CalTrans crew trying to open Tioga Pass April 2017,

April 2017:  Yeah to CalTrans - clearing the Tioga Pass (from the Junction of US 395 to the Yosemite east Gate). The snowpack is estimated to be between 8 to 15 feet on the highway, with up to 50 foot snowdrifts in some locations.

Now plowing from the Yosemite east gate through the Tioga Pass is another story - still 100" on the ground at 8600'. Keep an eye on this website for opening dates and even if you are coming in June or July: https://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/tiogaopen.htm
